Everyone has heard of the sunken titanic, but these stories about ships will make you reconsider your next vacation at the ocean. Here are 7 sunken cruise ships. Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Voiceover by Rodney Tompkins: https://www.youtube.com/c/BigBadada2012 7: The MS Explorer The MS Explorer had sailed the Antarctic region for almost 40 years before meeting its end on November 11, 2007. After its expeditionary voyage in 1969, the Little Red Ship, as it was nicknamed, had been considered the pioneer of maritime tourism in the Antarctic region. It was the first cruise ship purposefully designed for sailing the Antarctic Ocean. On November 11, 2007 6: The MTS Oceanos On the 3rd of August, 1991 the Oceanos was en course to Durban from East London, South Africa. Before long the ship started facing harsh weather conditions. The 40-knot winds and 30 feet swells brought about by the storm started to roll the ship from side to side. A muffled explosion was heard and then the Oceanos lost its power. Captain Yiannis Avranas was informed by one of his chief engineers that the generator room was in danger of being flooded. The generators were shut down as the crew feared they would short circuit. The vessel was left adrift. The explosion had caused a 3.9 inch hole in the bulkhead and the water levels soon began 5: The Costa Concordia Over 4000 crew and passengers were on board the Costa Concordia when it crashed on January 12, 2012, due to a critical error made by its captain, Francesco Schettino. The incident happened only hours after the Costa Concordia left the Italian port of Civitavecchia. The ship’s initial course was a week-long cruise on the Mediterranean. As it made its way along the Italian coastline, Schettino ordered the steering of the ship closer to the island of Giglio, as a ‘salute’ to the locals. After the ship’s ‘black box’ was recovered a recording was found in which Schettino 4: The RMS Empress of Ireland May 29, 1914.The Empress of Ireland cruise liner left Canada's Quebec Harbor on a course for Liverpool, England. Not long after the ship had left the port, the crew saw the masthead lights of Storstad, a Norwegian collier, several miles in the distance. The initial sighting took place in clear weather conditions from the ship's starboard side. However, a dense curtain of fog soon fell upon the two ships. Crews from both vessels made extensive use of their fog whistles. The desperate warning attempt did little to prevent the tragedy that followed. At 02:00 local time, the two ships 3: The MS Estonia In September 1994, in what was considered one of the worst maritime disasters of the 20th century, the MS Estonia, previously known as Viking Sally, sank in the Baltic Sea. The ship was travelling to Stockholm, Sweden from Tallinn, Estonia. There have been many speculations throughout the years as to what truly caused the shipwreck. Some experts have cited the turbulent conditions of the Baltic Sea as being a factor, with the ship having been hit repeatedly be heavy gales. This reportedly made steering difficult. Others blame the structural integrity of the ship as it was designed for coastal waters and not the Baltic’s open regions. The official report stated that the locks on the bow door had snapped under the pressure of the waves separating the door 2: The RMS Lusitania On February 18, 1915, during World War I, luxury liner RMS Lusitania sank after being hit by torpedoes launched by a German submarine. In response to the blockade imposed on Germany and the Central Powers by Great Britain and its allies, Germany announced that its naval forces would operate under a policy of ‘unrestricted submarine warfare’. At the time of its maiden voyage, in 1907, the 32.000 ton heavy, 240 meter long RMS Lusitania had been considered the largest, fastest and most luxurious passenger liner in the world. As it set off from New York with a course for Liverpool, in May 1915, passengers could read a warning issued by the Imperial German Embassy which said ‘Vessels flying the flag 1: The MV Wilhelm Gustloff Initially designed as a Nazi cruise ship for the ‘Strength through joy’ organization in 1937, the MV Wilhelm Gustloff was ultimately used in 1945 to transport evacuees. As the Red Army was closing in on East Prusia, the German forces launched Operation Hannibal, coordinated by Admiral Karl Dönitz. Wilhelm Gustloff was among the ships used to evacuate German civilians, military personnel, advanced weapon technicians and Nazi officials from several Baltic areas. The evacuation was completed.

Seven Seas Explorer, the most luxurious cruise ship ever made ! The luxury line's first new vessel in more than a decade will feature some of the largest, most elaborate accommodations at sea, including a single suite measuring 3,875-square-foot -- nearly 50% larger than the average house in the USA. The Seven Seas Suites offer between 825 square feet and 925 square feet of luxurious space, and exudes a cosmopolitan apartment feel with vibrant golden colored ceiling accents that reflect on the plush and tony furnishings. On July 20, 2016, Seven Seas Explorer will officially set sail on her maiden voyage. Will be a 14-night cruise from Monte Carlo to Venice, Italy, starting July 20, 2016. Regent says the ship will operate in Europe during its inaugural season and call at ports such as Barcelona and Ibiza in Spain, St. Tropez in France, Istanbul, Alexandria in Egypt, and Jerusalem. Dining areas include redesigns of Regent's signature restaurants: the Compass Rose, which now sports an aqua-blue chandelier, and Prime 7 steakhouse, which has a new purple-and-silver decor. Lounge areas include a 694-seat cabaret-style Constellation Theater described as a nod to the golden age of Hollywood. Hand-blown Murano glass lamps decorate each table. The ship's Observation Lounge is a bit of a throwback too. It's got a Roaring Twenties feel with a color palette of silver, gold, black and white. Reservations open Jan. 19 for members of the line's Seven Seas Society and Feb. 4 for everyone else.

140000 Year Old Alien Ship Found At Bottom of The Baltic Sea? Swedish explorer Peter Lindberg and his Ocean X Team of marine explorers discovered a truly mysterious object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, later to be likened to the Millennium Falcon. Lindberg’s team describes themselves as treasure hunters and salvage operators who specialize in underwater searches for sunken “antique high-end alcoholic beverages and historic artifacts”. They were on a dive search in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland for an old shipwreck when they discovered the strange object, which is now called the Baltic Sea Anomaly. As they were approaching the object, the side-scan sonar they used to detect the shipwreck stopped working. According to Stefan Hogerborn, a professional diver within the Ocean X team, “Anything electric out there, and the satellite phone as well, stopped working when we were above the object, then when we got away about 200 meters, it turned on again.” According to Ocean X, the anomaly has an appearance of “rough granite” and is round in shape. It is 3 to 4 meters thick and approximately 60 meters in diameter, stands on an 8-meter tall pillar-like feature, and is located at a depth of 85 to 90 meters. It was on their second expedition that the team found something that looks like a staircase and a round black hole which goes directly into the structure. The anomaly is made of metal and is said to be approximately 140,000 years old! Based on that hypothesis, the Baltic Sea Anomaly would have been formed during the Ice Age. A sample recovered by divers found that the object contained limonite and goethite – metals that Israeli geologist Steve Weine claims could not have been naturally reproduced in this form. A counterargument has been served by Swedish geologists Fredrik Klingberg and Martin Jakobsson that the compositions of the samples are not uncommonly found in sea beds and that they can indeed be formed by nature itself. However, sonar devices found drag marks behind the object, and Weiner says according to his tests, the structure is not a geological formation. The stone samples have also been analyzed by associate professor of Geology at Stockholm University, Volker Bruchert, who found that most of the samples were granites, gneisses, and sandstones. He also found a single loose piece of basaltic (volcanic) rock, which is not common to be found on the seafloor, but also not unusual. He claims that these rocks were possibly transported by ice glaciers since the Baltic region is heavily influenced by glacial processes, in which Danish archaeologist Jørgen Dencker also supported this claim. Some claim the object to be a remnant of a World War II Nazi anti-submarine device and considered that it could also be a damaged gun turret from an old battleship. Another claim was that of Göran Ekberg, marine archaeologist at Maritime Museum in Stockholm, who thinks that it was indeed a geological formation. He conceded that the findings are indeed unusual, especially because of its circular shape, but that nature has produced things that were stranger and far more unusual than the Baltic Sea Anomaly. Other experts say that the formation may be a pillow basalt, a moraine, or the product of a hydrothermal vent. But the most controversial claim about the Baltic Sea Anomaly was that it was of alien technology, perhaps, a part of an alien ship that happened to fall into the Baltic Sea. All of the explanations given by different experts seem to contradict each other, and until now, there has been no new information or test results to explain the Baltic Sea Anomaly. Denis Asberg, a member of the Ocean X team, said that they have contacted geologists and marine biologists, who all said that they had never seen anything like the Baltic Sea Anomaly. This has triggered more tests and analyses to be performed by other experts. Since there is really no absolute explanation for the Anomaly and how it could have gotten where it is now, this may remain one of the many enigmas of the world that are beyond human knowledge. Well before Seven Seas Explorer launched in July 2016, Regent Seven Seas was calling it the "Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built." In many ways, the ship lives up to the billing, with extraordinary features and tiny details that will make even the most discerning passenger exceptionally happy. To begin with, the cabins -- they're all suites -- are beautifully designed and feature some of the largest balconies in the industry. (Balcony sizes range from 55 to 994 square feet.) The ship features more than an acre of granite and an acre of marble, almost 500 chandeliers and some 2,500 pieces of art, including works by masters such as Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall.
