The List is a women’s lifestyle site, with a twist. We pride ourselves on being original, well-researched, and without sugar-coating, but no topic is beneath us. We tackle everything from reality TV (we’re a bit obsessed!), to finding love, to living a healthy and happy life. Every video you watch is either a personal experience, advice from an expert, or meticulously sourced, so you know you’re getting info you can trust, from women who get it.
William Shinn disagree about Rolex watch... they are clunky and too bulky on my arm and wrist. Mostly i wear my father’s Omega watch that he bought in the late 1950 s with a new band. Had it reconditioned by a jeweler with exact parts needed. New band.
AlexHime1 when you walk around with someone else’s name on it it’s free advertisement for the company. So are they paying me to walk around like a walking billboard for a company? No I’m not... I don’t even let the car dealerships leave their name on my car they at least are removable. And what’s so special about a handbag that is made in huge quantities? My mother in the 50s had her handbags custom made and the person who made it.... put in their name discretely inside the purse. Sometime if their was a flap on top of the handbag she had her 3 initials put in in gold. Now that’s what I call something worth spending money on. Not this mass produced crap.
I have an LV wallet and from my experience their products last a really long time (mine did 11 yrs plus in great condition) and I actually think it’s worth the money. What you said may be true of other brands but I’ve got to disagree with LV.
Stumbled on this video and it took the thoughts right out of my head....surely there comes a cap in price where beyond it is just plain stupid no matter how wealthy someone is. Being a watch lover, I tend to defend the high-priced timepieces....to an extent, as that is an actual fine craft that takes much skill passed down hundreds of years.
IT'S NOT ....VOOVE CLIQUOT.......It's more like VERVE.....SAY FUCKING "VERVE" then you will pronounce the word which VEUVE CLIQUOT......I hate when this motherfucking Yankees mispronounce the simplest of words......VEUVE BITCH.....VEUVE....OR VERVE.......NOT FUCKING VOOVE
I totally disagree about rolex. Omega costs almost the same, but it nothing in comparison to rolex, which has in-house movements, better quality of every piece, rich history and the name. Rolex is rolex. And it's actually not really expensive in comparison to many other swiss luxury watches, which often cost even more. Just like hublot, Audemars Piguet, IWC etc.
P.S. Omega is part of Swatch Group, that also produces 50 bucks watches. Rolex is still independent.
You are not only buying the product itself but also the experience you have and brand marketing. Without brand marketing, most people don't even know the brand exists, and won't consider them to be a status of luxury although you might not like the price tag. Yes they cost a lot, but there are also lots and lots of people working for the brand, so you are not only paying for the product and people who make it, but also people who design it, rent for shops, security, sales, interior design bla bla bla....... Sometimes the whole experience (from the moment you see the product maybe on ads or image, to walk into the store get served, put the product in very nice packaging, to when you actually wearing/using and feeling it with the nice finishing and fine details) is better then what you can have from lower brands.
Luxury is not essentials, buy it and appreciate the efforts for people work behind. After all they are not charity.
All of it is true with the exception of mechanical watches aka chronometers. Rolex, Patek, VC etc... are more about the complication-horology legacy that goes into mechanical watch making involving thousands of parts which keeps precise time with winding and never needing electrical charge, water resistant up to 1000 meters and such...As opposed to fashion accessories which in 2019 can all be made quite cheaply with the advancements of manufacturing tech.
Great health data was not readily available to people and thus why alcoholic toxins and painful shoes, apparel etc...were able to dupe so many into buying these so called status symbols...but much harder to do in modern day.
Mechanical watches are a horological technical feat in itself and thus the legacy actually carries value NOT just shallow hype!
I used to think big brands aren't worth it until I bought one, they charge for quality and stand behind their product. Take LV for example: Wife had a 6 year old LV bag, the company was going through some testing and figured that at a certain temperature the leather gets a bit sticky and could be an issue, they called us to bring the bag in, in whatever condition for a full refund or exchange. Big Brands= Quality. It's unfortunate that the mark up is huge but they're not just selling you any quality. Buying big brand products is really an investment
Not saying you can't find other quality products for less but what I am saying is people buy these because they can afford them and understand they are a status symbol. They don't think about the price because rocking a designer bag trumps the price. Those who can afford it buy it. Those who cant make videos proclaiming certain brands are over-priced.
I can afford these, but why the hell should I? I've made a huge impression in my environments and achieved my accomplishments with clothes for 1/2 or even 1/3 of the price. And if you want to get somewhere, then you actually need to work for it. Wearing a Gucci shirt at a job interview doesn't immediately give you your dream job
If these companies need to make their customers' banks broken in order to make the appreciation feel genuine, then I'm starting to question if they actually care about their art and craftmanship rather than money. The core of really valuing your art and craftmanship is to avoid greed and commercialism
People can buy whatever they like and set whatever price that they believe it is worth. I just don’t like seeing how some people is lining up at welfare office saying no money for their kids, food, or insurance with those fancy brand name purses and driving luxury car.
Lmao. Then go spend 300 bucks on a MK bag and watch it look like shit 2 weeks later. You buy an expensive Louis Vuitton bag for 2 thing. 1. Exclusivity, 2. Quality. The bag itself isn’t anything gorgeous, it’s the name and what it represents that gives it such a high appeal and class. And second is quality, the cost of making a 200+ H & M bag Is about 12-15$, the cost to an LV bag is hundreds of dollars and then even more hundreds of dollars for the labour. It’s something that’s meant to last a long time and that’s why you pay such a high price. You’ll run up a tab more than one of their bags going through crappy Chinese made bags that cost Penny’s on the dollar of what their charging.
Honestly, fashion industry is trying to manipulate people by brainwashing them like "oh buy this one, it is signatured". But at the end of the day, it is still just a bag, or a watch, or a dress. Even if people buy a non signature items, if they look good carrying it or wearing it,the name doesn't even matter.
So Balenciaga isnt worth it because of one funny bag ???? Obviously the people behind that video know what they are talking about....not. there is an obvious difference between an ikea bag and that bag, they have similare shape and color but that is it, they look very different in real life, leather is leather, plastic is plastic. Actually that and the bazar bag are superbly well made and the quality is there in the caftmanship.
I’m sorry but the Tiffany diamonds are ETHICALLY sourced. That’s why they’re more expensive. Who knows where or how the hell costco gets their diamonds. I’d rather not buy diamonds than buy cheap ones that cost someone their life.
I strongly disagree with many of the points used in this list. When buying a Rolex your getting an in house movement, that they make themselves, they refine their own gold, and all of their watches are held to a very high standard. An omega as used in your example will not be using an in house movement aside from a few models (those models cost as much as a Rolex). Furthermore you never take into account the craftsmanship or amount of effort it takes to make something of this caliber to extremely high standards. Your main points were that raw materials were much lower than the cost of the item, and saying that all of these items are just hyped up is huge shortcoming.
You can find fresh water pearl necklaces any where, for under $100 dollars. Why would you spend money on fake plastic pearls that will last you a few weeks before the pearlescent paint starts to rub, and flake off.
PLEASE at least learn the correct pronunciation of the brand names, you're making a fool of yourself. And I'm sorry, but Veuve Clicquot is by far better than 100% of sparkling vins and better than 95% of Champagne (the real one from France) in terms of quality and taste. But then again, it's a question of taste and training.

Russian Girls: Who Are They?
Obviously, Russian girls are ladies from Russia. However, for most foreigners its an umbrella term which refers to Slavic girls in general. Due to this, girls from neighboring countries Ukraine and Belarus are also called “Russian girls” by many Western men who do not distinguish between these nations.
Russian girls are rightly considered to be some of the most beautiful women in the world. It is their great looks that make them desirable brides all over the globe and lure so many Western men. Their appearance is quite different from the typical appearance of Western women. Slavic beauty is a mix of different blood types and different races. The variety of sorts of appearance is due to the history of the peoples that have lived on the territories of what is now Russia and Ukraine.
